Developed and built by RGE Energy, that is also responsible for financing, management and maintenance of the plant.
The PV project is built on a former military airfield in Kothen, Saxony-Anhalt, on 116 hectare undeveloped area which equals the size of 162 soccer pitches. The project is the largest solar power plant in Saxony-Anhalt and currently the world`s largest with string inverters. The project is equipped 205.000 crystalline photovoltaic modules of BP Solar.
Annual electricity yield is estimated at 42M KWh, enough to supply annual electricity demand of 9,400 households.
Total investment in the project is estimated at EUR 133 M.
